What was it about?
Five-Story hotel located in the Alliance corridor in Fort Worth with the structure designed for cold-formed metal structure.
What did I do?
Working with York Engineering Services, we followed the engineering specs for this project and designed the whole structure on Solid Works. Each panel was designed accordingly to the stud and headers schedule. The floor joists were all designed on the model and were sent to the job site cut to length. The same applied to the metal deck.
What did I learn?
Prefabricated structures require serious coordination with the other trades, especially plumbing. Otherwise, many conflicts may happen with parts of the structure needing to be adjusted (cut, moved) to allow for other construction elements to take place.
