Charming Boutique Hotel located in Round Rock, TX. Two separate buildings designed in a vintage/retro style.
What did I do?
This is a design and build project that I had the opportunity of working with Hill Wilkinson and PAGE architecture firm. Leading the engineering design, we were responsible for designing the building structure for both cold-formed steel walls, structural steel, balconies, Ecospan floor system, and roof trusses. Once everything was fabricated, we sent the shipments to the site for the installation sequencing.
What did I learn?
Early on MEP coordination was very important at this job. Coordinating that with Hill Wilking Project Manager and Superintendant I asked for the as-built conditions of all plumbing coming up in the foundation which allowed us to shift our stud spacing where those were eliminating every chance of conflicts once the structure was going up.
